I also love the way you're treating the reflection. It looks like you've studied some reference for this, as it feels really natural in the reflective pool. I also like the way you are lighting up the sky - with the use of your gradient around the moon and how it extends to the side. Is there a way that you would add some more textural bumps or something to the ground in the foreground? I wonder if you could add some bits and pieces as the ground gets closer to us that could mimic the shapes that you have in the mountains? Or, if there are a couple natural disturbances in that large gradient field ? Like some rocks... or maybe some dips in the land? I think it looks like the edge of a beach, and there might be a way to incorporate something subtle there, so it fits the way your'e treating that organic shapes in the sky. Do you know what I mean?

Great job on this. It makes your picture look a little flat on that side. Other than that, the rest is great!Alli Messamerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09258126917334822112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5750046476777125323.post-88812457849883994212011-10-14T11:26:46.524-07:002011-10-14T11:26:46.524-07:00COLE. this is very good. I...Holy whoa, you have done a great job with this! I don't know how you got the gradient mesh to have transparent bits like that, but this is really super cool! I get a little confused with that darker portion of the lake - if it's supposed to be a reflection of the mountains, the angle isn't correct and it should be lighter because the reflection of an object should not be more contrasty than the object itself! Still, this is really awesome. Great job!mayahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12447028114622358944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5750046476777125323.post-58606646697632152442011-10-14T11:24:38.245-07:002011-10-14T11:24:38.245-07:00Nice touch of having a reflection your skills at u...Nice touch of having a reflection your skills at using the the gradient mesh are really good. I'm glad you didn't add to much to the mountians since it's more of a silhouette and it might distract from the Aurora.
Good work.Jakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10528952380784057410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5750046476777125323.post-33474634134729925792011-10-14T11:23:21.533-07:002011-10-14T11:23:21.533-07:00wow, I really like the shadow of the sky and auror...wow, I really like the shadow of the sky and aurora.sEasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06980210045860948548noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5750046476777125323.post-69733173112607120732011-10-14T11:19:47.305-07:002011-10-14T11:19:47.305-07:00the choice of having the lake to include a reflect...the choice of having the lake to include a reflective element was smart; it pulls the piece together nicely. I also like the fact that you put the reflection of the lights on the ground.

The only think I would look at is the ground. maybe if there was a little texture on it or something. not too much so it distracts from the lights.

again very nice!Lairenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12007703104195760042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5750046476777125323.post-22050943738143859842011-10-14T11:16:05.489-07:002011-10-14T11:16:05.489-07:00Aw man, I envy your understanding. The lighting behind the mountain is really well done too. I think the edge of the lake closest to us looks a bit strange- perhaps a bit of a transition between the water and the shore might help strengthen it?Amanda Ritchiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09778782952885706246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5750046476777125323.post-30151546119941978052011-10-14T11:08:47.738-07:002011-10-14T11:08:47.738-07:00Very awesome.
