They definitely give a more dynamic pull to the image rather than the softer original but at the same time it translate real nicely. (I almost like the deeper pallet you used in the second version more.) You understand tonal values really well; it'd be nice to see some of the area under the eye be slightly more muted so the contours aren't so overpowering.Kelsey Dusenkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15626598915286554321noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5750046476777125323.post-39534557653278551402011-09-09T11:30:55.638-07:002011-09-09T11:30:55.638-07:00Dangggggggg. It looks like you've really taken the time to grab some of those important details like in the shadows where you use blue, and some of the light inside the iris. I also like that you're using pink to get some of the shadows. I think you could play with the transparency menu in the hair a little bit to get the same kind of see-through texture that you have in the original drawing. I also really appreciate your use of the purple tones in the shadows to get the same kind of depth that you have in the original. I think you might also be able to use the smooth tool on a couple of the pointy shapes if you'd like to create a really blended look. it might be worth a shot! Great work - also nice job on posting from flicker. They are not the exact colors from the image but I think you chose well! I feel like there could be a bit more use of transparency, particularly in the shadows around the eye ad the purple highlights on the lashes, but I really enjoy the way you handled the eye itself - white, iris, pupil, it all looks great!mayahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12447028114622358944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5750046476777125323.post-49242860833397246512011-09-09T11:20:45.253-07:002011-09-09T11:20:45.253-07:00It makes me really happy to see you play more with...It makes me really happy to see you play more with the colors in the second piece.
