I like the creepy blood child in the middle of the painting but I am confused at how evil the blue girl is. I know in some of the pictures, she has sharp teeth but it gets covered up by the child in front of her. Maybe if you added something else to make the blue girl more scary, it might add to the scariness of the piece.
I think this could really benefit from some overlayed textures in the foreground to obscure the image more, make it a bit grungy. Also The title font is not quite centered, which is a bit off. I really like the image you started with but I think this is maybe not the best image to put into illustrator with how little experience we have all had with it!
I really like your color choice, though! It directs the eye well - though some more murkiness could help, especially to make it merge better with the background!
I know I already told you this, but I love the way you colored the hair and how cocoon-y it looks and the contrasty blood dripped on it. Also the goopy blood dripping out of her mouth is beautiful. I know you're not finished, but maybe you could make the trees a differentish color so that they don't look like they're growing out of the monster lady's head. And giving your background a bit more depth would be so great. :)
Really like the painterly feel i get from it but I have trouble reading the text. You could add some effects to the text to help it pop more. The colors are great and the composition is really well set.
You're so close! I think the blob brush will be a fantastic asset for you - it looks like you're already working with it! One of the things that helps me a lot is to block out the massive shapes first, then paint on them with the blob brush - that might be a great way for you to start the bottom area when you get to it. I think that you're beginning to do it with the girl, but you might have to create those broad shapes first to make sort of a frame for the textures you'll add on top. I love the concept of your piece and I know that when you finish it, it'll be as creepy as the initial concept. I think your color choices are off to a good start, and I think that if you keep with it and include that red in a couple other places on the piece, that would be fantastic. I'll also look for the more in depth text when you're able to add it. Let me know if you need some help with any of the other pieces in Illustrator. It looks like you're getting the hang of the pen tool in her hair - the trees look a little jaggedy, but I know you're still working on it! Let me know if you need some help! I'll look forward to seeing your finished poster when you have it!
I love the painterly look of the imagery. However, the title gets kind of lost in the image. I'd maybe change the color of the text so it pops more.
ReplyDeleteAlso, there's very little information about the movie itself. More text in general would be helpful.
