originally i was planning on drawing tipis into the composition, but after browsing through some library books on native american art i decided instead to superimpose imagery taken from/inspired by native american painting and textiles... so it's not really a "blending" of illustration and photography, but more creating an illustration that draws contrast between the two, or something.

final
this is my final illustration. it's not my favorite thing ever, but was an interesting experiment at least.

Photoshop 002-Historic Photo manipulation

I find it fascinating how a fictional character, such as Superman, can become so well known that, although he wasn't a real person, he becomes a real part of history. If you take history of comics, I'm sure you will study Superman. I was originally going to draw a gangster, probably Al Capone, until I thought of this.

Monster MOFO

So the first image is my landscape that I found. The second I have created my overall image using a quick scan, there isn't much to my pen, it is an extremely quick outline. I laid down a quick flat color, just to make sure I got the right idear. The third and fourth images are a combination of me adding shadows, highlights, and some more color. I used a white brush at about 43% opacity to get the highlights so he would look shiny and gooey.

Megan Leitschuh- speed paint cat

Here's the speedpaint of one of my cats! She likes to sleep on my bed because 1: it's a loft bed and 2: there's like three blankets and she loves to be warm. She gives me this face when I wake her up.
