  2. Awesome job I really like the texture on his clothing, He looks a little sad for a tengu, but i reallly like the overall composition both imagery and photo work together.

  3. I think this scene is perfect for this guy. A nice rock bench for him. The linework on the rocks works well to incorporate it with your sketch. It looks like you added some texture to the sky and over your guy. I think it might help if the texture was a little bolder on his clothes. Overall, I think the simplicity of it makes the guy and scene work together.

  5. It was a good idea to include line work in the original photo. It easily helps merge the two pieces together. The glow is really nice as well. I think you may want to consider incorporating other illustrated aspects that may help suggest a narrative, such as a water bucket, or something. Give us some reason as to why this guy looks bummed out.
    Otherwise, I like it.

  6. GREAT JOB BRO BRO!
I love how you kept the colors flatter instead of shading. It really does give it this nice scroll look. I really like how you have a slight texture in the background to really play it up.
    YOU ROCK!

  7. I like that you did linework over the photo. It really blends the two together. I would say over all the character is a little washed out and has little value change throughout the figure. I would suggest putting more darks in. Nice job though

  8. I think you did a great job integrating the piece - like everyone else, I think the linework concept is great. it could be cool to see what you do with colored linework, maybe? Like - on the bkgrd elements or even in the guy in some spots?
I think that you id a great job using filters or textures to also make your character feel integrated as well. It could be cool to see some light/shadow elements in his color, too - just to pop out a couple pieces like his nose.
    very cool.

  9. I love your guy, he's pretty sweeet. I agree with people, the line art is a smart choice, im a little jealous.
I would like to see what this would look like pushed darker instead of lighter. Maybe a dark vignette around the whole thing or a colored layer on top set to multiply to give it a little something something?

  10. I really like how you added line work to the photo elements to make them fit in more with the Tengu. It makes them go together really well. I also like your color choices for the piece. It makes him stand out, though not too much. One thing I think could be improved about this piece would be to add more of a shadow under him to make him fit better. Though, overall this is a very nice piece with an interesting subject.

  11. Holy Guacamole.

I like what you have going on here. Using the photo as a fill for the line work is rad. If you wanted to push it further you could add textures to make it even more print like.

  12. I like the way you lightened everything and added outlines to elements of the photo. It's simple, but effective. (I wish I'd done the same). Also, I think your character is great.
