Holy poop this is amazing. You are like an Illustrator guru. Please teach me your ways.I really like the sort of dappled effect this has. You didn't try to completely mimic the leaves, which I think works because the texture you created is really interesting and fun to look at. Good choice!
the contrast of these three leaves can be stronger
really awesome detail. I love how you can see all the different shades of green go into the leaves. good job on vectoring and posting the image up. super impressive!
While I do think you definitely followed the original image, I'd like to see some darker greens in there as well.
This worked well for you. Glancing at it, I can hardly tell the difference.
This is really cool. It must of taken you forever to work on all of those tiny shapes and the result is amazing!
The attention to detail in this is amazing. and I think it was a good choice in your style to not use transparencies or gradients for this assignment, but it would be really cool to see how you can integrate them into your work. Have you seen Waking LIfe? the rotoscoping in that movie looks a lot like this. :)
You did a really great job focusing on the details in this one. I like that you didn't skimp on any of the really important color shifts! It almost looks like you did a really high quality live-trace and captured all of the colors because it looks super accurate to the original one. It must have taken a really long time for you to get every last detail, but it was totally worth it. I could see you using this technique to make some great graphic illustrations from your own artwork as well. I would love to see this blown up. Nice job with Flickr, that's exactly what I needed. I hope you feel great about using the pen tool now and that you don't have a hand cramp after this! It sure looks like you put a lot of work into it. Great job.
