Hairy Monster

I decided to go a little more narrative on this assignment. I had alot of fun playing with textures and form.

  1. Really nice details and composition on this one.
    You even have a background!
I like the heroes design, and I think you used the textures well in combination with color.
    Looks great!

  3. This is so fantastic! I love the composition and and the subtle use of purple as a lighter tone on the spider! This is a really great piece! Way to go above and beyond! I love the textures in the background, they are very interesting to look at, although I feel that some of them compromise the forms (on the cliffs, or rocks, or whatever!).

  4. really nice use of using textures in the background to create a space that's not too cluttered.

  5. I LOVE the use of textures in the background. You also staged the characters very nicely, and they both stand out really well against the background.

  6. I like the very generic guy with the super detailed, not generic at all, spider.

  8. I love the different textures you're using on this one. It's nice to see that they pop up in the background as well. It would be good to see you clip some of those to the background so it looks like theyr'e integrated into some kind of planar shape or something as well - right now they look liek they're floating on top? Maybe it could be nice to see a couple of them darker - it sort of seems like they could be used as very specific kinds of materials, not just textures back there? Know what I mean? The textures on the spider are really cool - I love how you're using them to shade him - that could be great throughout the piece! (also, nice job setting up a scene - it's pretty neat to see this all fleshed out - just add some textures to that guy and you'd be set!)
