I agree, it feels light in spite of the dark background! I really like the textures you have used as well! I think there could be even more of them, maybe with even more layers of transparency, but it feels like it is almost there!
Spoooooky! I love the way you used color in this. I personally think it would be super cool to see more layers on the dress part, maybe using a couple more layers. I would love to see this bigger!!
The layering is a nice touch, it adds its own texture in a way. Although the piece shows bits here and there of texture, it might benefit from more variety.
I LOVE what you're doing with the layers in her dress - it looks like you've clipped a really awesome texture for that front piece - is it a photo of a drop of ink in water?? Whatever it is, I think it works well with the shapes that you're creating and it feels really ghostly. I think that the addition of it in her hair really helps - this is an awesome way of working and I'm looking forward to seeing you do more of this! It's nice that you feel like you're getting the hang of it! it shows! I'd love to see where you used custom brushes - and are you having a hard time with flickr? let me help you get that posted on flickr so it is bigger for everyone to see when you post next time! I'd also love to see what kind of subtle watery shapes you could add in the background to kind of simulate an aura around her - or some kind of atmosphere. nice job.
I really like the layering in this one.
ReplyDeleteNice idea!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE the layering, although I agree with Sherri that the skirt could use more layers. I'd also like to see a little more detail in the face.
ReplyDeleteI think the textures you used work really well, colors too, the detailed layering at the bottom could be used a bit more at the top to balance it out.
