  1. This looks very clean and illustrative. The minimal shapes benefit the style and use of the pen tool well. The simple highlight contours of orange/tan seem to bring it together nicely. And the shadows are nice.

  2. Okay, this is really really nice. I really enjoy that you didn't just follow the photo and try to exactly render this. This looks super polished and clean and very aesthetically pleasing. I like the shapes you created with the brown a lot.

Also that dog is was too cute.

  3. This is interesting. The illustration brings the dog into a very playful mood. Less harmful & more bliss. You captured the contour very nicely.

  5. I really like that sort of strange transparent ribbon in your vector! Sometimes the shapes get a little lost because of how similar in tone they are sometimes. You could either make the shift in tone more obvious or possibly add more shapes!

  6. I feel like this is very nicely done~ While you didn't necessarily go for reproducing the image as closely as possible, in this case I enjoy the stylized version much more~ You've done a lovely job with capturing the most important shapes, and the color choice is very nice as well. The decision to add a background color really works for this piece too! The only part that feels a bit odd to me is the bridge of the nose/the brown shape above the nose. It doesn't seem to sit as well with the other shapes you've added.

  7. You took a nice approach to the daunting task of fur. I don't second guess the contours + colors you chose, but I would like to see a bit more detail in the ears + eyes.

  8. I love how you did the layering of colors in this, it has a great stylized feeling to it, especially in your use of lines. I would like to see a bit more of the line work used in the face to be used in the ears a bit more for better balance. Nice framing too.

  9. It looks like you really have a great handle on the pen tool. All of your shapes are nice and clean, and you did a great job in the eye, nose and mouth areas with keeping the additional shapes clean around the edges of the original shape. I love the use of transparency in a couple places and definitely could see you adding a couple more textural details in some of the under eyes, or in the ears to show the furriness. He looks like he's super clean right now ( love the shininess of the nose) maybe challenge yourself to find a way to make him seem furry? Also - it would be cool to see a cropped version of the original dogs face a little closer so we can really see the similarities between the faces! Also - is there any way to get your dog bigger? Can you re-size it to 500px. Looks nice though! Great job on the requirements & using a fun way to stylize this guy.
