  1. I think your color choice is great, but I think you can add more dark and light layers to really give your character depth.

  2. I think the images could both be larger, and I like the character design, however its hard to compare the two since the top version has no color which was an important part of the assignment.

  3. I really love the linework of this piece. I feel like you did a wonderful job keeping the angular feeling of the sketch, but I'm glad you also put in some color and a hint of shading in there (though pushing that a bit more might've strengthened the piece further). It'd be nice if it was just a bit wider (to the 500px wide) so we could see even more of the piece~

  4. I like how it was black and white but you use is assignment flesh out your character. Very good color palette.

  5. I like this transition a lot! I think the vectored image looks even better than the penciled piece! I like the aesthetic of this - it has a very clean animation sort of feel! I think you could add some highlights on the zygomatic arch or the nose - even just a small subtle bit - to improve it, but I really think this is great!

  6. The facial structure is put together very well, it looks like a finished version of the sketch.

  7. Your image is very neat. You colored it well. I almost want to see what it would look like without the black outlining to it. It could be interesting.

  8. It's good to see that you went above what the original pencil work was. I think that coloring it and editing the shapes has really improved the structure of the face. It looks more anatomically correct in the vector then in the pencil haha.

  9. The digital inking on this one is really neat - did you use the pen tool on this? It looks like the blob brush - or maybe an inked drawing with digital coloring? Id be interested in how you did it! There are some areas that look like the pen tool - like in the shoulder, but then it has a real organic feeling in the ear and chin. I like it. It'd be neat to see how you did it! Since you started with a black and white image, it's interesting to see how you took it to color - The final that you have has some really great planar color choices - I love how your'e using the slow gradient on the sides of the nose. It's really subtle and works really well. This could be a great way for you to work as well! HOpefully you liked working this way! If you were to add anything, I could see you doing acouple other shifts in his hair - maybe behind his ear -- so that you can get that same nice gradient behind that piece. Nice!

Also - let me help you get this to be a bigger size - it's SO small. You'll have to load it to Flickr first and then copy the link into blogger! Let me know if you need help!
