john's monster

  1. This is so cute, it would make for a great little logo or something. I think you could have used a bit more variation of textures, as well as giving your monster a bit more of a surrounding. A bigger picture would be awesome too.

  2. I enjoy this a lot! I think some sort of scale ratio could be nice, though, since I can't tell if he would me a tiny monster or a very large one! I really hope he is a tiny one, though - like the size of my hand. It would be adorable!

  3. I think that it is good start! However I think giving it more of a pose and more movement and definition would really help

  4. I think your color combination is great. You could add more textures and crazy lines to make the image more interesting and to give it more depth.

  5. It makes me think of an ancient god of the trees that has come out of dormant and is ready to conquer the village. Really like the clean shapes and color pallet. The only thing I would add is a background of some flat color at least so you can see the horns. Great Monster.

  6. There looks to be only one texture, but you've made use of it by inverting the colors. Great way to make a little go a long way!

  7. I really like how you're using different colored versions of the texture to make this guy. It would be great to see how you would use other textures to enhance him? Maybe there could be some other ones that you could layer on top - almost creating another level of lighting? I love how you've used the brush to create almost a hairy-look to the areas between his limbs. It's a nice contrast to the clean areas of the rest of him! I'd love to see how you could work with some more shapes like the horns - it looks like you're starting to get the hang of the shape tools, and maybe playing around more with the pen tool would be great! I could see you adding a little bit of a background for him to stand on as well! Great job so far! Add those other textures in and this will be awesome!
