Sherri Taray - Chickensaurus

birdy2

I created the textures for the body, red spiky things, boat, island, and water. Body and boat were outlined with a custom brush, and a bitmap was incorporated into the body.

  1. I really like this design!
I think the colors work well together
I think the textures work well too.

  2. i think the texture in the water, sand and skin work great. my only problem is the wavy/crest shapes along the top of the water. they seem a little elementary or rushed compared to the rest of your shapes.

  3. This is really interesting to look at! I feel that the perspective is sort of crazy and I'm not certain where we are looking at this from! That being said, it is a really interesting design and I like the textures you chose, especially the one for the sand!

  4. I like the texture on the chickensaurus whatever it is. The slightly darker arm was a good idea. I'd like to see the texture of the water bending around and surrounding the island more.

  5. Crazy textures! This is insane both in the texture and the colors. The water seems to be swirling towards the bird monster and then the bird is like this bad ass monster that is fearless. The only thing i would try different is add something in the white space that is the sky maybe add some crazy clouds. Love this one.

  6. I love that you used a bitmap! Awesome! I think that it's super great because it looks awesome as a subtle texture and really gives some difference between the bolder textures you're using. In fact, it could be awesome to see how you could tone down a couple of the contrasty parts of the other textures and see what happens! I think that the texture you used for the water is great - it looks like a wood-block texture, and the movement of it is really nice. I also think it could be great to see this without such dark linework around the shapes? Maybe see what it could look like shape-against-shape! I think you did a good job on the inside of his body with the subtle color shift? , maybe it could work for he outside as well!
