I really like the line quality on the ox! It looks very brushy and nice! I also think editing the colors on the photo in the way you did was a super smart move and the piece feels very integrated!
I think it would have been nice to replace some of the lines of your drawing with deeper value shifts. It almost looks like he's glowing, which is kindof cool but I think it would nest into the ground a little better if the shadows reached the darkness of those found on the tree trunks. I like the use of the snowy texture, but I think it could be a bit more varied in size/density to make a more natural atmosphere.
I love the way you changed the atmosphere of the image by adding the blue lighting and the snow, I think this was a great idea for how you would add babe - I love that the color change on babe is also really subtle, but saturated enough for you to see him first. I think it would be great for you to play with the color of the linework, too - maybe the color could be navy, or maybe you could try doing that linework-color-effect thing with quick mask that we did when we were working with linework in photoshop - you know what I mean? The area at the top of the image is nice as well, it feels soft and hazy. I could also see you knocking back paul to be less contrasty back there. maybe he could be like 50% of the value you have him at - and you'd still be able ot see him. so, the cool thing about depth, especially in really hazy atmospheres like this, is that the further things are away, the less contrasty and less saturated they get - so if you notice how the trees in teh foreground are much more contrasty, and the ones in teh back are less? the same can apply to the silhouette of paul! Love the scene. Babe looks very peaceful.
