  1. this is wild! realistic yet stylized to your style. Excellent source of lighting hitting his face. The red and greens totally give it that earthy feeling

  2. Ohh I love how in the 3rd frame of the GIF his face just comes to life, so lovely! I'm definitely getting an earthy vibe from the color pallet, its really nice and complimentary. I'm not sure if you were working with sweat or dry, but i get more of a sweat vibe due to the materials you used. Looks like artists oils or something?
Really great job on the face, if you wanted to push the image a little further I would suggest pushing the background pattern back just a little. A simple wash of an olive tone would help him pop out a lot.

  3. It's crazy to see where you started from. I think this is a nice painting and a good likeness of the ye ol' cannibal. You have a very intersting painting style. I love the big blobs of color. It doesn't seem like they should work... but they do. Great job.

  4. This is gooorgeous. >:T! You really worked that lineart in super well, it's not overpowering at all.

    Also, pretty colours.

  5. This is really a great portrait I enjoy the use of Mr. Hopkins as well. With the addition of color the piece really just jumps from the original sketch, I feel like your color palette works really well together in this piece. The background is the only thing I would alter, but seeing as it was unimportant for the project I think it works fine as well as helping push out the colors from his face. All in all you seem to have a really good grasp on how to work with painter.

  6. beautiful! i love your brushwork in his skin, and the color palette, and that the pattern that you fill negative space with feels like it implies a time period or a setting, but not overly so. it just gives us possible ways to interpret it. it's also cool that you chose to draw an older person -- wrinkles and things can be way more fun to paint than smooth skin :]

  7. I gotta say this is one of my super all time favorites! :) I love how painterly you got everything to look without looking "squishy" (if that makes any sense AT ALL) The colors you chose for this were amazing. The background is also really cool. I love how the texture plays well with it.

  8. Everything is great from your line work to finish. I love the color palette and use of green, red and yellow as undertones in the piece. I actually enjoy the unfinished piece in the 3rd process pic the most. It has tons of character.

  9. I absolutely love this! You have such a great process putting color down - it looks really fluid and it's fun to watch how you put down unexpected color that ends up being a great complement to the shadows and highlights throughout the piece! I love how you're also integrating some of the bold color into the background pattern. If you were to add anything, you could maybe work the pink of his shirt into a couple additional places - maybe the bkgrd? Maybe in some highlights of his jacket? subtley? You've done a fantastic job on this piece! I hope you liked the process!??! I really hope you continue to use this program!!!
