So for my scene I did Jack the Ripper. Sadly halfway through i realized my door was out of proportion so this is midget/giant world!
1. Jack creepin on a whore with is.... scoopy thingy that once was a knife but I went with it... so it's a hook now?
2. A very dead lady
3. Cops investigating the scene.
When making the second one i was all "yeah cool! drawin blood and dead things!" but by the third one I started feeling really really bad.I felt like a murderer. Maybe cause it was early in the morning but hey...
I really like your blood trail, combined with the goofy grin that Jack is making, it is pretty great. To make him slink into the shadows a littl bit more I would use a bit more of heavy darks on the character him self to make him blend into the darkness just a little bit more. It would be slightly more effective. This feels very comical to me and made me laugh.I would also maybe play with the textures on the bricks just a little bit more, they look good so far, but maybe play around with the sponges or chalks a little bit more at a wider brush size.
ReplyDeleteThe blood trail is awesome! This is hilarious (which is terrible, on my part, I guess). I'd say maybe change the colours/make the people/things in the background more hazy to emphasize the depth.
ReplyDeleteOH man, that smear of blood is waay awesome i can totally imagine the body being dragged. The story is very apparent and it makes total sense. Aesthetically the only thing i hae a real problem with is that black shaddow behind your jack the ripper. I feel that it would have been nicer to have a darker brown instead and maybe be able to see some of the texture of hte brick. Overall, nice work!
ReplyDeleteNice! I really like the last one with the police. It's an interesting place to end it rather than just having the blood there. The building perspective might be just a liiiiiittle bit off but it's not distracting. I really like the blood, it's well done. Also, the light from the streetlights. I think there could be more/darker shadows on the figures though.
ReplyDeleteWow dude. Gross. But nice too. I dig the colors. I like the narrative and it's a good use of the assignment. I like the shadow core around Jack the Ripper. It really brings him all of the way to the front and sets him on top of that building. Good Job.
ReplyDeleteCreepy, but captivating. I think you chose a good story line to illustrate! It's interesting and definitely grabs viewer's attention.
ReplyDeleteLook at that booty, daaaammmn girl. Epic and gruesome story. I think the girl, while she is alive might need a bit more dark in her dress. If the side away from us is facing the street lights the side we see should be a bit darker. I agree with some other peeps, some darker values in jack would really make him pop. The blood trails are sweet, this is an intense idea but maybe the blood should change in the 2nd and 3rd scene? Less in the 2nd and all that nice gooey grossness in the 3rd.
ReplyDeleteLovely my dear
Your characters are really interesting and the scenes are really disturbing (in a good way). I'd love to see some of the dark shadows that you have on the ripper used in the woman as well.
ReplyDeleteWhen i was watching this animate, I was super impressed by the sequence of events you set up. I think you did a really great job of story-boarding this out. It looks like stills of an animation, or like you have picked some really key parts of a gruesome scene. I love that you're working with lighting in this as well - It would be cool to see you push the saturation values, too! Like, maybe the bkgrd has less saturated pieces, and the colors get closer together in value? I like that the brick up close to us has a light feeling, maybe you could add some fun textures with other brushes, too - to make them really stand out? I think that would be a fun way to add some textures to some of the other pieces, too - like the street, or shiny blood... or something like that!

I am super happy we got to have another class together! Painter is such a great thing for you - I love how you're using it and it seems like it's becoming a super awesome tool for you! I hope you keep going with it! Also - you have a knack for working with pacing of stories (just like this!) You should consider doing more of this when you have the chance!) Besides all that, it was great having you in class and I am going to miss you! You're a blast and, of course, it was awesome seeing everything you were up to! Stop in some time and say hi! I hope you drop in and show me what you're working on next semester some time, too!!! ;)
