Nice illustration. It would nice to see your process images. I like the different opacity levels you used, I feel like the pink fire could maybe use a stroke around it.
Awesome, this really turned out well, the use of the glow effects was used seemlesly throughout the piece I also really like the use of a pink glow as opposed to the typical blue and yellows. The color choices used in this piece turned out really well from the dark red blood contrasting with the light red from the neck meat everything feels very strong together. The only thing I would add are nipples and maybe a hairy chest.
The way the glow affects the figure is really nice. I'm not sure pink is the best color for a viking though :P is you drew in a few highlights it would give the figure some more volume. I love the dragon's face.
The way the pink light is spilling onto the figure is quite nice, but I would like to see a more visible glow around to flame itself. I understand you're working in a really flat style though, so maybe that wouldn't work with what you're trying to do, but it's something to think about.
Whoops, i commented on the progress shots so I will add on here! I'm happy you kept the pink essence behind he badass viking. I like seeing some dragon demon beast get its ass kicked by a glow of pink. The glow works well on the viking, not too intense. I do wish that the pink flame/magicness had more detail to it to give it some more movement
I really like the use of color in this piece. The pink and brown contrast with each other very well and the slight fade of pink in the center was a very good idea. I also like the simple, yet descriptive design of the character. One thing that I think could be improved on would be to add more detail to the background, though overall you did a very good job.
what a fun piece! I love how you made a viking dominating a dragon with a magical pink sword. The pink glow is a bit strange to me, as it mostly points downwards, I'd like to see the glow from the fire going into the face of the viking a bit more. I'd also suggest playing with using different colors from the glow, like maybe an oranger color. Or if you're going for something more mystical making it like a blue or something else unexpected.
HIgh Epic, very nice. I love the pose and the magic pink thing but I wish it was a little more glowy. THe color of the dragon is pretty close the the color of the vikings kilt. I would try messing around with those colors. Other than that it's pretty nice.
The sketch for this is really nice! Though the first thing I noticed in your final is that his face kind of gets lost in the yellow hair and his facial features are a little too vague (but that may just me me). The dragon/dinosaur head is pretty comical. Since you have the glowing pink fire, I think you need some brighter pink highlights on your viking, dinosaur, and pink fire.
+: yes. this feels like a good dio cover or something. I think the ways that your'e using the "magic" theme are working well with he super hot glow. It really seems to radiate off of him. I also think that your subject matter fits appropriately with the ways that you're using the techniques. The characterization of your viking is really nice especially as you are playing with the broad shapes of his form to define space rather than going in with small details.-: I do, however, think that you could probably bump up some of his facial features and maybe add some more space -defining linework or shapes in the serpent? It gets a little hard to read down there and could totally help.I also think that you could potentially play with the firey pink shapes a little to activate the space in the upper left a little more - I like the sun-flare one a lot, maybe there is something you can do to the other side?
