maya's glowlight

glowlight
oh yes! and i used outer and inner glows on the jellyfish and as an over all effect on top as well as various gradients in the jellyfish and background and a gradient mesh in her hair!

  2. I like that you kept with the subtle glow effects in the background on the jelly fish, it gives it a very intimate environment.

  3. I love the warm, dreamy atmosphere you created with color pallet + vignette. I'd maybe just ad a bit more depth to the characters.

  4. Really nice! I think the colors are great and the designs are really cute.

I like the light halftone you applied.
I noticed it looks like a few things got left off of the left side :o
I see a sliver of white on the left and blue/purple on the top. Might wanna crop that! <3

  5. I really like the colors and the way you used gradients in an interesting way. The lighting is a bit confused however and I can't really tell where the light is coming from is the light red?

  6. I like how you used your glow not only to add lighting to your picture but also to play with the emotions of the two people who are interacting with each other. One thing I question is the jellyfish that is right in the middle between the couple. The tentacle is in front of the girls dress. If the jellyfish is supposed to be that close, I would probably make it glow brighter so we can tell it is supposed to be closer.

  7. i love that you piece tells a story. i think that what makes this a strong piece, you can tell you put a lot of work into the composition. i like the color palette and the way you draw your characters. the only thing that im not to wild about is the purple color in her hair, maybe a shade of pink instead, other than that good job!

  8. This is so beautiful. I love your characters great work on the hair. Great color choice and textures it really works well in this one. It feels like you did more to the girl character then the guy maybe you could balance them out by giving him highlights. Love the jelly fish and everything else.

    Amazing work.

  9. Maya, this is super cool. I think you're doing a great job with gradients. you really got the point of the assignment and kicked it's butt. I love the way that you're using lighting in this piece to focus on the characters, and I love the way you're introducing really organic gradients into this piece. The way you've used them is nice and natural - not at all corny or over he top. I especially like how the jellyfish are giving off a really nice subtle aura.

I could see you adding a little bit of red light on the edge of your guy's hair - maybe on the back of his neck - coming from the jellies behind him - or maybe it's case on the edge of his arm - like back-lighting? I love the way you're adding textures, too. Great job on this. It feels really nicely done. Great use of color and gradients.
